On Republic Day 2024, Google featured a special doodle that showcased India’s journey from the analogue to the digital era.

In honor of India’s 75th Republic Day, search giant Google created a unique doodle that shows the nation’s shift from the days of analogue TVs to smartphones.

The imaginative artwork represents the ceremonial parade as it might have appeared on television during these many years.

India became a republic on January 26, 1950, after gaining independence in 1947.

India has seen significant changes in recent years, including the transition from large cathode ray tube TV sets to smaller models and, finally, smartphones.

The doodle shows two TV sets and a cell phone. The first analogue TV set has the letter “G” on its left face, and the two TV sets’ screens combine to make the two “O”s of “GOOGLE.”

The remaining three letters of the Google logo—”G,” “L,” and “E”—are shown on the phone’s screen in that order.
The first TV screen shows black-and-white footage from the procession, while the second, which represents the shift in technology, shows a colored contingent of camels.

“This Doodle celebrates India’s Republic Day, which commemorates the day in 1950 when the Constitution of India was adopted and the nation declared itself a sovereign, democratic, and republic state,” according to the note accompanying this doodle.

“Today’s Doodle, illustrated by guest artist Vrinda Zaveri, features the Republic Day parade as it would have been seen on different screens over the decades,” it said.

India is prepared to commemorate its 75th Republic Day on Friday by showcasing its rich cultural legacy and military prowess along the magnificent Kartavya Path.

The keynote guest of the major events, which center around presenting the nation’s woman power and democratic principles, will be French President Emmanuel Macron.

Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, will lead the country in a 90-minute march at the ceremonial boulevard to commemorate the 75th Republic Day.
