Deputy CM: Subhadra Yojana: 17,000 re-enrolled, 2 lakh beneficiaries have not updated their KYC

In a key update in the prestigious Subhadra Yojana, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed that at least 2 lakh beneficiaries are yet to update their KYC. She highlighted the need for Know Your Customer (KYC) updates and urged everyone to complete them before the roll-out of the fourth phase, slated for late January 2025.

Moreover, at least 17,000 beneficiaries who were ‘opted out’ due to various reasons have been re-enrolled in the prestigious Subhadra scheme, informed Pravati Parida. All the re-enrolled 17,000 will get their first installment in the last week of January, increasing participation significantly, she added.

The Deputy CM explained, “Out of the 31,000 women who were originally ‘opted out’ while applying for Subhadra, 17,000 have been re-enrolled to the scheme. Nevertheless, 14,000 women are yet to rejoin.”

She did, however, raise the possibility that they were not re-enrolled because they might fall into a higher income bracket. Additionally, Parida brought attention to the problem of incomplete documentation, pointing out that more than 2L beneficiaries have not updated their Know Your Customer (KYC) records. She suggested that all beneficiaries finish these updates prior to the start of the scheme's fourth phase, which is scheduled for the end of January.

For the Subhadra scheme to run smoothly, it is imperative that the KYC procedure be kept current. The announcement made by Parida highlights the necessity of increased involvement and adherence to relevant regulations.

Worth mentioning, the first under the fourth phase of the 'Subhadra' scheme is scheduled to be released shortly, making timely compliance essential.

Meanwhile, the Odisha cabinet has approved 31st March 2025 as the deadline for registration to avail benefits under the Subhadra Yojana for the financial year 2024-25.

Earlier on December 30, Deputy CM Parida announced that in 2025, women across Odisha will benefit from the Subhadra Yojana funds on three separate occasions throughout the year.
