Yograj Singh predicts a stormy future for Arjun Tendulkar, he can be the next...

Arjun Tendulkar may be living under the towering legacy of his father, Sachin Tendulkar, but fresh waves of anticipation are rising around his cricketing future. Adding fuel to the buzz, Yograj Singh, a former cricketer and father of Yuvraj Singh, has made a sensational claim that could redefine the young all-rounder’s career trajectory. With confidence and conviction, Yograj declared that Arjun has what it takes to dominate world cricket, comparing his potential to that of the explosive Chris Gayle.

In a bold and headline-grabbing prediction, former India cricketer Yograj Singh has sparked excitement and debate in the cricketing world by claiming that Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, has the potential to become the next Chris Gayle — but only under the mentorship of his son, Yuvraj Singh.

Arjun, currently a part of the Mumbai Indians squad in the Indian Premier League 2025, was bought for Rs 30 lakh in the mega auction. Despite being in the roster, the all-rounder is yet to make his appearance in the playing XI this season. However, Yograj Singh, known for his candid and often controversial remarks, believes there is untapped firepower in the young cricketer.

"I told Arjun to concentrate more on his batting than bowling," Yograj revealed. "If Yuvraj – who shares a deep bond with Sachin – trains Arjun for just three months, I guarantee he will become the next Chris Gayle."

Yograj, who has previously trained Arjun, also shed light on the reason behind their discontinued training sessions. "He feared his name would be tied to mine and create baggage," he said.

Statistically, Arjun has had a mixed domestic season. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, he scored just 40 runs in two innings and claimed four wickets in three matches. In the Ranji Trophy, he managed 51 runs from three innings but impressed with the ball, taking 16 wickets in four games, including a five-wicket haul. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 21 runs and picked up one wicket in two matches.

Whether Yograj’s prediction will come true remains to be seen, but the cricketing fraternity will now keep a closer eye on Arjun's development — especially if Yuvraj steps in as mentor.
