According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, Odisha is expected to experience a temperature increase beginning today. Thus, a warning has been sent out for a number of Odisha regions. It is anticipated that the concerning weather pattern will result in a notable increase in temperature.

The end of winter, which means the state won't get any respite from the heat for at least the next week, has been blamed for this temperature increase.

Currently, temperatures across Odisha are between 2 to 4 degrees Celsius above the seasonal normal range. The mercury is expected to remain high both day and night over the coming four to five days, reports said.

“There is no possibility of rain in Odisha for the next five to seven days, and dry weather is expected to prevail. The minimum temperature is not expected to change, and an increase of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius is likely thereafter,” said Manorama Mohanty, Director of the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Bhubaneswar.

“Daytime and nighttime temperatures are likely to rise starting today, thus making the entire state feel warmer,” she added.

Dense Fog Alert for Odisha:

In addition to the soaring temperatures, dense fog is likely to cause disruptions in the next 48 hours. Authorities have issued a yellow alert for 19 districts, warning of intense fog conditions today.

The Regional Meteorological Department has also predicted light to moderate fog for coastal Odisha over the next two days. 

Experts have suggested residents take appropriate precautions during this period of extreme weather, advising against unnecessary outdoor activities during peak heat and ensuring proper hydration. Residents have also been urged to stay informed through official channels for updates and further guidance.
