With 39.5 lakh visitors and Rs 25.37 crore in revenue in 2024–2025, Nandankanan sets a record.

Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar has set a new benchmark in visitor footfall and revenue generation during the financial year 2024-25. The popular zoo and botanical garden collectively welcomed a record-breaking 39,52,097 visitors, generating an all-time high revenue of Rs 25.37 crore from various sources.

According to official data, 37,71,980 visitors explored Nandankanan Zoological Park, while 1,80,117 visited the State Botanical Garden. The visitor demographics included 32,32,126 adults, 7,19,178 children, and 793 foreign nationals.

Revenue Breakdown

The record revenue of Rs 25.37 crore was accumulated from multiple sources:

  • Rs 16.35 crore from entry fees, parking charges, and camera fees
  • Rs 5.87 crore from outsourced facilities
  • Rs 3.15 crore from the "Adopt an Animal" programme

The unprecedented growth in visitor numbers and revenue highlights the growing popularity of Nandankanan as a major wildlife and eco-tourism destination. Authorities attribute the success to improved infrastructure, conservation efforts, and engaging visitor experiences.
