Delhi: One officer hurt after an ED team was attacked during a cybercrime raid | Watch

Officials in Delhi were allegedly attacked during an ED raid for a cyber fraud case connected to the PYYPL app. Despite being hurt, an officer carried on with the operation.
According to officials, an Enforcement Directorate team conducting searches in a money laundering case connected to cyber fraud was allegedly attacked here on Thursday.


About the incident that occurred at a farmhouse that was raided by ED officials in the Bijwasan neighborhood of the national capital, which is under the jurisdiction of the Kapashera police station in southwest Delhi, the agency has filed a police formal complaint.

During the assault, an Enforcement Officer (EO) sustained minor injuries. Officials said that after receiving first aid, he is still conducting the searches.
A case against the PYYPL app is the subject of the probe.

Ashok Sharma and his brother were among the alleged accused in the case who allegedly attacked the ED team. According to the sources, searches are ongoing and the situation is under control.
Sources claim that the search operations were started after the ED received information about cybercrimes such as phishing, QR code cheating, and part-time job fraud that resulted in fraud involving numerous people from the I4C and the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).


Debit and credit cards were used to withdraw the money obtained through this cyber fraud, which was discovered to be layered through up to 15,000 "mule" accounts.
