Dalak village in Cuttack still needs development because it lacks roads and electricity.

The lack of basic infrastructure in Dalak village, which is in the Narsinghpur block of the Cuttack district in Odisha, causes serious problems. Residents and tourists must first drive on a dirt road, then cross a number of small brooks and waterfalls before arriving at Dalak, the village. Because there are no motorable roads in the area, it is difficult for cars to get there, which delays the arrival of emergency personnel in the village.

According to the sources, the village does not have access to electricity, and solar lights have been installed, but they are still not working. There are only two solar pumps installed for drinking water, and the majority of the village's homes lack piped water. One is reliant on sunlight, while the other is still inoperable.

Sharing his frustrations, a local villager Kapila Jani said, “Our forefathers have been living in this village for the last 100 years, and we have never experienced any basic amenities throughout our lives. We lack roads, the authorities did not build a pond despite multiple requests, and we do not get immediate medical assistance. Ambulances cannot reach here in time due to the lack of motorable roads.”
