Rajiv Kumar, vice-president of Tata Steel Kalinganagar, steps down and could join Vedanta Aluminium

At Tata Steel Kalinganagar, Rajiv Kumar, Vice President (Operations), has stepped down. According to reports, on Wednesday he handed in his resignation to T.V. Narendran, the managing director and CEO of Tata Steel.

After graduating from the prestigious BIT Sindri, Kumar began working for Tata Steel in 1990. He was given the crucial duty of overseeing the Tata Steel Project in Kalinganagar after gaining years of experience in both the Wires Division and Tata Steel Jamshedpur. Since Kumar was a major contributor to the Kalinganagar Project's success and a well-known figure within the organization, his resignation comes at a difficult moment for Tata Steel.

Kumar’s resignation is a significant change in the senior management of Tata Steel’s operations at the Kalinganagar Plant. The reason for his departure was simply listed as "resignation," with no additional details provided regarding the circumstances or any future plans for Kumar.

Confirming the resignation, Rajesh Rajan, Head of Corporate Communications at Tata Steel, stated, “Rajiv Kumar has resigned from the post of Vice President (Operations), Tata Steel Kalinganagar. We won’t be able to provide any more details as of now.” The company’s disclosure did not elaborate on any plans for filling the vacancy or on any potential impact the resignation might have on the company’s operations.
