In a press release posted on its official website, Hockey India said that all fans attending the FIH Hockey Pro League 2024–25 games at Bhubaneswar's Kalinga Hockey Stadium from February 15–25 would be admitted free of charge.
Additionally, the announcement stated that the action was taken to improve accessibility, promote inclusivity, and create a lively environment for the international event. Additionally, it quoted Dilip Tirkey, President of Hockey India, as saying, "We hope to create an electrifying atmosphere in the stadium, with fans from all walks of life coming together to celebrate the sport, by offering free tickets."
The FIH Pro League is an annual international hockey competition featuring top-ranked national teams. The 2024-25 edition in Bhubaneswar will see men’s and women’s squads from powerhouse nations like Germany, England, Spain, Ireland, and the Netherlands compete alongside the hosts India team.
It is worth mentioning that the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar has hosted multiple international tournaments, including the 2023 Hockey World Cup. Dilip Tirkey, in the same press release, hailed the city’s legacy, calling it “synonymous with world-class hockey.”
