Wipro, a major IT software company, plans to hire up to 12,000 new employees next fiscal year (FY26), up from 10,000 in FY25.
According to the company's Chief Human Resources Officer Saurabh Govil, nearly 7,000 new employees were hired in the October-December (Q3) quarter, with another 2,500-3,000 expected to join in the fourth quarter of FY25.
Govil emphasized a cautious but consistent hiring approach as the IT company reassesses its hiring models in order to improve employee utilization and margin growth in the face of declining attrition rates.
In its Q3 FY25 results, Wipro reported a headcount of 232,732 employees (net deduction of 1,157) as of December 31, 2024, with a net utilization of 83.5%.
