Iconic National Wheelchair Cricket Tournament 2024: A Historic First in Odisha

Bhubaneswar is set to host the Iconic National Wheelchair Cricket Tournament 2024, marking a historic first for Odisha. Organized by Iconic Transformation, the tournament will take place from 2nd to 4th December 2024 at the Hi-Tech Medical College Cricket Ground. This event underscores a significant step in promoting inclusivity in sports, as differently-abled athletes from across the nation showcase their talent and resilience.

The Odisha Wheelchair Cricket Team, supported and trained by Iconic Transformation, will compete alongside teams from Karnataka, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh in a 10-over format tournament. Highlights include the Opening Ceremony on 2nd December at 3:30 PM, the Grand Finale on 4th December, and the Closing Ceremony at 5:00 PM the same day. Awards like the Winner’s Trophy, Best Batsman, and Man of the Series will celebrate the athletes' outstanding performances.

A special felicitation will honor K. Tamana, award-winning producer of the state-recognized film Mahabahu, for receiving the Best Producer Award from the Government of Odisha. Esteemed personalities like founders and directors Dr. Chidatmika Khatua, Dr. Sanjaya Chaudhury, Mr. Sekh Abdul Samim and Chair of YI Ms. Sonal N More will grace the event.

With the support of organisations like AMNS, Hi-Tech Group, Falcon Real Estate, Yi (Young Indians), Odisha Cricket Association, SNM Group, SBI Foundation, Torrent, Kalinga Sports, and Shopwebs. This tournament reflects a powerful commitment to empowering differently-abled individuals through sports, inspiring society to embrace inclusivity.
