Bhubaneswar, February 9, 2025 – The Indian Gate Ball Union, in collaboration with Iconic Transformation, successfully organized a National-Level Coaches & Referees Training Camp on February 8th and 9th at PHEO IB, Satyanagar, Bhubaneswar. The two-day event aimed to train and certify aspiring Gate Ball coaches and referees from across India, strengthening the sport's foundation in the country.
The camp saw enthusiastic participation from 21 players representing various states, including Odisha, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Kolkata. Under the expert guidance of Dwaipayan Pattanaik, Ranjan Patra, and Biswa Ranjan Mishra, the attendees received specialized training, refining their skills in both coaching and officiating.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by the founders of Iconic Transformation, Dr. Chidatmika Khatua, Dr. Sanjay Choudhury, and Dr. Sekh Abdul Samim, alongside Dr. Umakant Pani, President of the Indian Gate Ball Union. Their collective presence underscored their commitment to promoting Gate Ball as a competitive sport and fostering a structured training ecosystem in India.
At the conclusion of the camp, participants who successfully completed the training were awarded certificates as certified Gate Ball coaches and referees, marking a milestone in their professional journey within the sport.
Dr. Umakant Pani emphasized the importance of structured training programs in Gate Ball’s growth in India, while Dr. Chidatmika Khatua, Dr. Sanjay Choudhury, and Dr. Sekh Abdul Samim reiterated Iconic Transformation’s commitment to nurturing grassroots sports talent.
