A Mayurbhanj government school teacher is being investigated for using a "fake certificate" to obtain employment.

A government teacher at Majhigadia Upgraded High School in the Mayurbhanj district's Kaptipada block is being investigated for allegedly deceiving the government in order to get a teaching position.

According to a Right to Information (RTI) Act request, the teacher in question, Sindhusuta Nayak, earned her Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in 2009 and her Bachelor of Education (BEd) in 2013.

However, between 2008 and 2012, Sindhusuta is believed to have simultaneously held a position as a staff nurse at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, receiving a full salary during this period. This has raised suspicions regarding her full-time courses while being employed full-time in the government sector.

The allegations have sparked concerns about discrepancies in official records and raised questions about oversight in the verification of educational credentials for government positions.
