Orissa High Court halts appointment pending further orders for OSSSC merit list for 2753 MPHW

On Monday, the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) was ordered by the Orissa High Court to stop hiring Multipurpose Health Workers (MPHWs).

The OSSSC announced the MPHW results in September 2024 with the goal of filling 2753 positions throughout the state.

Several candidates had moved the court challenging the OSSSC MPHW recruitment. Hearing their petitions, the High Court stayed appointment of MPHW till further orders.

The court will hear the case next in the first week of March.

For the recruitment of 2753 female health workers, OSSSC had released an official recruitment notification on April 29, 2023.

For the recruitment of MPHW, a 100-mark written exam was conducted. There was negative marking for wrong answers. Later, it was alleged that 13 answers were wrong while there was no clarity over answers of eight questions. Following this, several candidates had moved the High Court.
