Over the past few days, there has been light to moderate rain and thunderstorm activity in several parts of Odisha. In various regions of the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted Friday that thunderstorm and lightning activity would persist for the next few days.
The IMD has also issued a yellow and orange warning. However, over the course of the next four to five days, the minimum temperature (nighttime temperature) in all of Odisha's districts won't change significantly.
Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 22.02.2025)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.02.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 23.02.2025)
Orange Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning, gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and hail is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhargarh, Balasore.
Yellow Warning (Be aware): Thunderstorm with lightning, gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.02.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 24.02.2025)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapada.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.02.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 25.02.2025)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj.
