Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated in Bhubaneswar, and delegates are welcomed with great fanfare.

The massive Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, which will start tomorrow, has drawn Indian diaspora members from all over the world to Bhubaneswar. At the Biju Patnaik International Airport, elaborate arrangements are being made to welcome the delegates, giving them a glimpse of Odisha's vibrant culture.

On-site footage showed a group of artists performing Odia folk music and dances outside the terminal gates as guests were welcomed with lotus flowers upon arrival.


"The happiness I feel to be here is beyond words. One French participant compared it to a large family reunion.

Extreme attention to detail has gone into the design of the city of Bhubaneswar outside the airport. Traditional Odia paintings adorn the walls.

In keeping with this, today at the State Museum, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi opened nine digital galleries dedicated to Odia art and culture. In addition, the museum's hours have been extended, and until January 12th, visitors can visit from 9 AM to 9 PM.

As it gets ready to host its first-ever Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, Odisha is making tremendous preparations. The 2025 edition of the mega-event is scheduled to take place from January 8 to January 10 and is anticipated to draw over 4,000 delegates from 70 countries, according to sources.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak to the Indian diaspora and open a theme pavilion on January 9 at Bhubaneswar's Janata Maidan, where preparations are currently nearing completion. The mega event is also anticipated to include President Droupadi Murmu.
