On Thursday, ISRO announced that it had successfully de-docked the SpaDeX satellites, opening the door for upcoming projects like moon exploration, human spaceflight, and the construction of its own space station.
In a post on X, Union Minister Jitendra Singh declared that the satellites had successfully de-docked.
"SpaDeX satellites accomplished the unbelievable de-docking. This paves the way for smooth conduct of ambitious future missions including the Bharatiya Antriksha Station, Chandrayaan 4 & Gaganyaan," Singh said.
"Congrats team ISRO. And heartening for every Indian," he said.
Singh stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continued patronage keeps morale high.
The SpaDeX mission was launched on December 30 last year when the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) placed two satellites—SDX01 and SDX02—into orbit to demonstrate a docking experiment in space.
After multiple attempts, the space agency successfully docked the two satellites on January 16.
