As part of his trip to Odisha for the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Sammelan, which starts today, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited a number of tourist attractions in Bhubaneswar, the nearby Puri, and Konark.
On Monday night, the Union Minister and his spouse arrived in the state capital for a five-day visit. He learned about Odia culture and heritage on Tuesday morning by touring the Puri Jagannath Temple, the Dhauli Shanti Stupa, the Konark Sun Temple and its Interpretation Center, and the Raghurajpur Arts Village.
The EAM visited the Konark Eco-Retreat in the evening and gave the site's hospitality and sightseeing arrangements high marks. The Konark Eco-Retreat, incidentally, is still decorated with views of the Bay of Bengal, and visitors enjoy a delightful experience thanks to cultural performances and traditional folk art.
S Jaishankar emphasized this to media representatives, saying that he had a great time during his visit and that he hoped more tourists would come and enjoy the Odia food and natural scenery.
Between January 8 and 10, 2025, Bhubaneswar will host the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. It is anticipated that over 4,000 members of the Indian diaspora living abroad will flock to the state to take part in this event.
