A Bengaluru woman "steals" Rs 50L from her husband and secretly weds an Instagram acquaintance.

In a bizarre incident, a resident of Bengaluru's Raghavendranagar approached the police for support following his wife's decision to remarry a man she met through social media.

Though they have an 11-year-old son together and were married for 12 years, the woman identified as Nethravathi allegedly stole Rs 50 lakh and other important documents and married her Instagram friend, the husband Ramesh alleged.

The revelation of her second marriage came to Ramesh's knowledge after he saw a social media post showing his wife’s second wedding video.

Ramesh has also accused Nethravathi of absconding with valuables, including property documents allegedly worth Rs 50 lakh (£50,000 approx). Initially, under the impression that Nethravathi had gone to her parents' home, Ramesh reported her as missing when he realised her whereabouts were unknown.

Social Media Connection

It is claimed that Nethravathi eloped with Santosh, whom she met on Instagram. Subsequent to their marriage, she reached out to the police to aid in collecting her personal belongings from her prior residence.

Ramesh stated, “Despite taking good care of her, she cheated and filed a false domestic violence complaint.”

Conversely, Nethravathi has refused any reconciliation with her first husband, alleging abuse during his drunken episodes. On the other hand, Nethravathi has lodged domestic violence charges against Ramesh.
