The ICC Hall of Fame has honored AB de Villiers, a legendary figure in South African cricket. Virat Kohli, his former RCB colleague, praised him as the most gifted cricket player he has ever played with. For Royal Challengers Bangalore, the two formed multiple game-winning alliances. In ODIs, De Villiers is the record holder for the fastest century and 150.
Since ABD joined Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011, Ab de Villiers and Virat Kohli have always had a strong brotherhood, whether it is smashing the bowlers while batting together for RCB or sharing an intimate moment while celebrating an RCB victory. While playing for RCB, the explosive team of Virat and Ab de Villiers formed numerous game-winning alliances and held a great deal of respect for one another.
Abraham Benjamin De Villiers was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame on Wednesday, and his RCB teammate quickly expressed his love and gratitude for the South African legend.
The Hall of Fame is a testament to your influence on the game, and yours has been genuinely exceptional, therefore you are well-deserving of your spot, Virat Kohli remarked.
“Your ability has always been discussed, and with good reason. You are the best cricket player I have ever played with, hands down,” he continued.
De Villiers has served South African cricket admirably throughout the years, always being there for his team when they needed him most.
In addition to De Villiers, the roster also included India Lady Cricketer Neetu David and England Veteran Test Player Alastair Cook.
The fastest century in ODI history is held by De Villiers. In a January 2015 encounter in Johannesburg against the West Indies, he reached the triple-figure mark in just 31 balls. He also smashed the record for the fastest 150 runs in the 50-over format of the game on February 27, 2015, during the 2015 ODI World Cup match against the West Indies in Sydney.
At the end of his career, AB de Villiers amassed 8765 test runs.
