According to the media, Israel bombed the village of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, killing at least 30 Palestinians.

Women and children were among the fatalities of the Israeli army’s shelling of a residential square with at least five houses, according to a statement released on Saturday by the official Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Locals told Xinhua that they had to move the victims on foot or with donkey carts because neither the medics nor Civil Defense services could get to the scene.

The Xinhua news agency stated that the Israeli army has not responded to this event.

Israel has been launching a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on October 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and about 250 taken hostage.

The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 42,924, the Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Saturday.
