The BJPs "Sankalp Patra" pledges Atal canteens, Rs. 500 in LPG subsidies, and Rs. 21,000 for expectant mothers.

With promises of Rs 2,500 monthly financial aid for women, Rs 500 in LPG cylinder subsidies, and medical insurance of up to Rs 10 lakh for all citizens, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rained a series of poll sops on Friday for the fiercely contested Delhi Assembly elections.

When J.P. Nadda unveiled the BJP manifesto, he also pledged to establish Atal canteens following the Assembly elections, which would serve food to the underprivileged and disenfranchised for just Rs 5.

Nadda stated that the BJP manifesto will be unveiled in stages and that its "Sankalp Patra" places a high priority on the empowerment of women and youth.

"Every pregnant woman in the capital will receive a pregnancy nutrition kit with Rs 21,000 in cash assistance," he stated.

He also declared that the new BJP government will approve the Ayushman Bharat in letter and spirit, in the first cabinet meet and will also enhance the limit from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

“Apart from Centre’s Rs 5 lakh medical insurance under Ayushman Bharat, the new city dispensation will give additional benefits of Rs 5 lakh, together, taking it to a total of Rs 10 lakh,” he explained.

The BJP President also vowed to set up Atal canteens across the capital, which will provide food to people at just Rs 5. He also blasted Kejriwal-led AAP for befooling the voters with Anna canteen pledge.

“In 2015, AAP had promised Anna canteens but it never saw light of the day,” he underlined while stating that BJP does what it claims.

While launching the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ on the final day of filing of nominations, Nadda also credited PM Modi for ushering in a new ‘political culture’ in the country.

Elections are now being fought on development goals rather than meaningless subjects, he claims, because political party manifestos have shifted to reflect "sankalp," or commitment.

"Prior to the change brought about by PM Modi's vision, people and political parties would forget about their election promises, but now they are being held accountable and are demanding that those commitments be fulfilled," he stated.

Nadda also informed the reporters that the party's Sankalp Patra will be released gradually over the coming days. Women and slum dwellers are given top priority in the BJP's manifesto, which lays out its plans for the capital and sets the stage for a close election contest.
