World leaders honor former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh

International leaders honored Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former prime minister of India. Leaders from all around the world, including those in nearby countries like Afghanistan and the Maldives, have expressed their deepest sympathies and remembered his remarkable contributions to diplomacy and economic advancement.

In an X post, Hamid Karzai, the former president of Afghanistan, called Dr. Singh "an unwavering ally and friend to the people of Afghanistan." "One of India's most distinguished sons has passed away," Karzai wrote. Dr. Manmohan Singh was a steadfast friend and ally of the Afghan people. I offer my sincere condolences to his family, the Indian government, and the Indian people in light of his demise. May his soul rest in peace forever.

Mohamed Nasheed, the former president of the Maldives, expressed his sorrow on X as well, calling Dr. Singh a "benevolent father figure" and a beloved Maldivian friend. "I'm devastated to learn of Manmohan Singh's passing. He was always a pleasure to work with and seemed like a kind father figure to me. The Maldives had a close friendship with him," Nasheed stated.

The important contributions the previous prime minister made to Indo-Russian ties were emphasized by Denis Alipov, the Russian ambassador to India. "It is a moment of poignant sorrow and grief for Russia and India," he said on X. Dr. Manmohan Singh made an incalculable contribution to our bilateral relations. Given his undeniable skill as an economist and dedication to India's advancement, his dapper manner was always charming.
 

After being hospitalized to AIIMS owing to declining health, Dr. Singh, who was India's prime minister from 2004 to 2014, died on Thursday at the age of 92.

Known for being the mastermind behind India's economic reforms in 1991, his time as finance minister and then prime minister changed the country's economic structure by modernizing its regulations and bringing it into line with the rest of the world.

Dr. Singh is remembered for his intelligence, humility, and commitment to public service. His legacy of advancement and prosperity continues to motivate leaders worldwide.
