The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar predicted that Nor’westerly rains would likely lash parts of Odisha in the next four days, providing some relief from the scorching heat on Monday despite the cloudy sky. Today’s weather was somewhat cool for residents of several districts in Odisha that were severely affected by the heat wave.
The weather service is forecasting rain showers for the next four days in various parts of the state, which has somewhat lessened the heatwave’s intensity.
According to reports, parts of Odisha are expected to experience Nor’westerly rain, thunderstorms, and gusty surface wind until May 9. According to weather office forecasts, the amount of rain will increase starting tomorrow, or May 7, and there will be heavy rainfall for two days on May 7 and May 8.
In at least six districts, the weather service has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and wind.
Parts of the districts of Bhadrak, Baleshwar, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Kandhamal are expected to see rainfall today, according to the reports. In coastal areas to the west, the wind speed is expected to be between 40 and 50 kmph.
It has been recommended that fishermen avoid the sea until May 8. Meanwhile, the temperature in the State has been consistently above 40 degrees, upsetting daily routines.
