People in various parts of Odisha experienced heat and humidity on Friday after a brief break and change in the weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a further increase in the maximum temperature, so it doesn’t appear that there will be any significant respite.
The maximum temperature, or day temperature, is predicted by IMD to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius at several locations throughout the districts of Odisha over the course of the next 4 to 5 days.
Additionally, a yellow warning for hot and muggy conditions has been issued by the IMD for various regions of the state. In several districts, a similar warning has also been issued regarding thunderstorm activity.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.05.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 19.05.2024)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati.
Hot and humid weather condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati
