On Thursday, Odisha’s extreme heat wave conditions persisted. As early as 8:30 am, temperatures in three cities within the State were above 35 degrees Celsius.
At 8:30 this morning, Talcher had reached a maximum temperature of 35.8 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest place. The highest temperature recorded in Jagatsinghpur was 34.8 degrees Celsius, while the highest temperatures in Angul and Balasore were 35 degrees Celsius each. The highest temperature ever recorded in Bhawanipatna, Nayagarh, and Baripada was 34 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature in Capital City Bhubaneswar during that time was 33.4 degrees Celsius.
The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted that Odisha will experience a heat wave until April 22. 24 districts in the state have received heat wave warnings from IMD. Furthermore, the State has issued an Orange Warning for tomorrow in as many as four districts.
Earlier, the Odisha government announced that schools would be closed for three days beginning on April 17 due to the current heat wave conditions in the State.
