Banwarilal Purohit, the administrator of Chandigarh and governor of Punjab, steps down.

Banwarilal Purohit, the administrator of Chandigarh and governor of Punjab, resigned from his position on Saturday, citing personal reasons.

The position had been occupied by him since August 2021. One day after Purohit met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, the resignation was announced.
