On Sunday, BCCI secretary Jay Shah celebrated India’s historic victory in the T20 World Cup and revealed a reward of Rs 125 crore for the team for their outstanding performance in the recently concluded ICC final.
In a thrilling final at Bridgetown, Barbados, India defeated South Africa by seven runs to win their second T20 world championship.
“Under the outstanding guidance of Rohit Sharma, this group has demonstrated incredible perseverance and determination, turning into the first team in the ICC T20 World Cup’s history to win the competition undefeated,” a statement from Shah read.
“They have repeatedly delivered outstanding performances to silence their critics. They now join the ranks of the greatest, and their journey has been nothing short of inspirational.
