Ravindra Jadeja, an all-round left-arm spinner, announced on Saturday that he is quitting T20 International cricket after winning the Men’s T20 World Cup at Kensington Oval. Jadeja was part of the Indian team that won its second T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa by seven runs while playing in the starting eleven.
Now that India has achieved the elusive trophy glory in Barbados, where they became the first team to win the title as an undefeated side, he follows Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in retiring from Twenty20 international cricket. Due to a knee injury, Jadeja had to miss the 2022 tournament; however, he announced on Instagram that he would still be playing for his country in ODIs and Tests.

In 74 Twenty20 Internationals for India since his debut against Sri Lanka in 2009, Jadeja has amassed 515 runs at an average of 21.45 and a strike-rate of 127.16. He has also taken 28 catches in the field and developed a reputation as a quick fielder at the point. He took 54 wickets at an economy rate of 7.13 and an average of 29.85 with the ball.
