In addition, all female employees will receive 180 days of paid maternity leave for a total of two births. Additionally, teachers will be eligible for a Placement bracket facility at the higher pay bracket after 16 years from the date of hire.
The Chief Minister has also raised the ex-gratia for employees under various block grants in the event of death or permanent incapacity, from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh and from Rs. 1.50 lakh to Rs. 3.50 lakh, respectively.
Concurrently, the Cabinet has approved the provision of a one-time cessation benefit on their superannuation upon reaching the age of sixty. For teaching and non-teaching professionals, a lump sum payment of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, respectively, has been allowed at the time of retirement at age 60.
After 5T and Naveen Odisha Chairman VK Pandian reviewed the requests from block grant employees and their unions during his early-year tour of several districts, the incentives were accepted.
The ideas have been approved by the Chief Minister following a meeting with the Cabinet. Reports state that the announcement will help roughly 17,500 employees.
