The speech by Odisha Governor Raghubar Das kicked off the Odisha Assembly’s budget session on Monday. Governor Das praised the state government’s accomplishments and expressed gratitude for dedicating the Samaleswari and Puri Heritage Corridor projects for the thousands of devotees’ benefit.
Das told the House that the Puri Heritage Corridor project will improve the amenities available to devotees who come to the Jagannath temple. Additionally, the project will help improve security protocols to safeguard the Srimandir. The Governor claims that the current construction of the Lingaraj temple under the Ekramra project is proceeding on a war footing.
According to the governor of Odisha, the state’s general status of law and order is calm and tranquil. The amount of left-wing extremism has significantly decreased as a result of ongoing efforts. In the state, 63 rebels have given up their weapons, 145 radicals have been detained, and 42 Maoists have been slain by police action.
Travel Industry, KALIA Program to Provide Interest-Free Loan to MARKFED
The governor of Odisha claims that the state government has designated tourism as a “focus sector.” At an estimated cost of Rs 1768 crore, a master plan for the development of 15 popular tourism destinations has been created. Following public submission of ideas, Rs 244 crore has been approved for the construction of tourism infrastructure at 136 locations.
The state government’s efforts to upgrade rural areas’ infrastructure under Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha were also praised by the governor of Odisha. The Nua-0 initiative, which aims to empower adolescents and promote social and cultural growth, was also praised by him.
Since 2018, the Odisha government has been able to provide financial support to farmers through its KALIA plan. The program aims to reduce poverty and promote agricultural development. In his speech, Das stated that around 18.93 lakh landless farmer households and 43.88 lakh small and marginal farmers had received assistance in the state.
Das claims that in order to safeguard the interests of the farmers from difficult circumstances, the Odisha government established a corpus fund that will grant MARKFED interest-free loans totaling Rs 100 crore annually.
