Jharsuguda’s Veer Surendra Sai Airport is prepared to establish direct connections with Kolkata and Bengaluru. The airport will start operating a daily service to Kolkata and Bengaluru starting on November 5 and November 15, respectively.
The Jharsuguda-bound flight would depart from Kolkata at 5.50 pm and arrive in Jharsuguda at 7.25 pm, according to information provided by Indigo. Additionally, it will depart Jharsuguda at 7.55 p.m. and arrive in Kolkata at 9.20 p.m.
On November 15, the flight to Jharsuguda will depart Bengaluru at 10.15 am and arrive there at 12.20 pm. The return flight from Jharsuguda will depart at 12.50 pm and arrive in Bengaluru at 2.55 pm.
Notably, on September 22, 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the Jharsuguda airport. The cost of the airport construction, which was funded by the UDAN program of the Center, was Rs 200 crore, of which Rs 75 crore came from the state of Odisha.
