Students at Ravenshaw University demonstrate in favour of delaying exams.

On Monday, Ravenshaw University students in Cuttack protested, calling for a postponement of their exams.

According to reports, on Monday, the students staged a sit-in in front of the Registrar’s office while wearing black badges. They requested that the exam for the Plus 3 first-year course be postponed for the first semester.

The students who were protesting said that the semester exam ought to have happened ninety days into the course. They complained that the exam dates had only been announced 55 days in advance, which infuriated them.

With only 55 days to prepare, how will we be able to show up for the exam? We took our complaints to the Controller of the Examination and the Vice Chancellor. They assured us that we would take the appropriate action in this respect. But the exam dates were announced, and in the end, the students have to deal with the consequences,” expressed student Latika Behera’s regret.

“Just because students are admitted to the university does not imply that they are problem-free on a personal level. How are we going to do well on the test in just 55 days when we appear for it? Latika inquired.

Following a conversation with the students, Patitapabana Mishra, Ravenshaw University’s Controller of Examinations, stated that the matter will shortly be resolved.

“No exams could be done after May 11 due to the election being held on May 13. As a result, arrangements have been made for all exams to be completed by May 10. I’ve spoken with the students who are protesting and asked them to send a representative so we can talk. They are determined to have discussions while travelling, though. In the middle of all the confusion, how can I talk to them? stated Mishra.
