In a startling incident, friends of a Plus 2 girl student in Berhampur, Odisha, allegedly gang raped her.
According to the accusations, the girl went to a friend’s house about three days ago, where the eight accused drugged and gang raped her.
In relation to the incident, a case has been filed at the Berhampur Baidyanathpur Police Station.
According to reports, police have taken all eight of the accused into custody to question them in response to the young girl student’s complaint.
According to Berhampur SP Sarthak Sarangi, who was providing information, “On May 5, a minor girl claimed that she was sexually assaulted by five to six people.” On May 3, she was brought to a private boys hostel by a friend of hers who is a major, where his friends turned on her one by one after they had spiked her drink.
One of the accused threatened the victim to keep the incident a secret after she regained consciousness.
“Five people were detained after a complaint about the incident was filed two days later, including the main accused who had driven her to the boys’ hostel. The Berhampur SP stated, “The accused has admitted to the crime.
Further investigation into the incident is ongoing. The accused, who had brought the victim to the hostel, knew her.
A case has been filed under the POCSO Act because the victim is a minor. The victim’s statement has been documented in accordance with legal requirements.
According to Sarangi, an investigation is being conducted to determine whether other people were involved in the crime.
