The 75th Republic Day procession was held at Kartavya Path in New Delhi on Friday, and at least 1500 farmers attended.
These 1500 farmers, who receive benefits from Central government programs like the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, have been invited to see the procession by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
More than 15,000 people were invited by the government to watch the Republic Day parade.
For their special invitees, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare had also planned a two-day program and training on January 25 and 26.
According to the ministry, on January 25, farmers were given a thorough training on important government programs and projects such the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, Per Drop More Crop, PMFBY, and others. They were also given a field trip to the famous fields on the PUSA campus.
According to the report, on January 26, these special invitees were there for the magnificent procession at Kartavya Path. Following the procession, Arjun Munda, the Minister of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare, and Tribal Affairs, spoke with the farmers at PUSA.
In addition to highlighting notable accomplishments like a five-fold rise in the agriculture budget, record-breaking production of food grains and horticulture, and large MSP raises, the minister stressed the critical role that farmers play in molding the country.
