On June 17, all schools in Odisha will reopen after the summer break. Regarding this, all schools have received a notification from the School and Mass Education Department.
The department has given the go-ahead for all schools to start preparing for the reopening of their establishments. Prior to the first day of classes resume, all teachers and staff members—including cooks and assistants—have been instructed to report to work.
Before the schools reopen, all of the classrooms, restrooms, and campus should be cleaned, per the notification. Additionally, it has been instructed to make sure that any bushes are trimmed, overhead tanks are cleaned, and furniture is arranged correctly.
In order to ensure everyone’s safety during lunch, the department has also ordered that the kitchen, cookware and gas stoves be cleaned. Additionally, in order to maintain student readiness for the e-library and smart classrooms, schools have been asked to dispose of any expired condiments used in cooking.
The authorities have been instructed to make sure that every student has access to safe drinking water and an internet connection by the end of the week. Regarding the central kitchen, the relevant authority has been instructed to get in touch well in advance in order to serve lunch on the first day of operation in accordance with the menu.
Notably, starting on April 25, the Odisha government declared summer break for schools. Because of the extreme heat wave conditions throughout the State, the announcement was made before the planned summer vacation.
