The state of Odisha will soon begin offering bus services to a number of well-known religious locations around the nation.
Odisha Transport and Commerce Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena said to media on Monday following a review meeting at the office of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation here: “Bus services to religious places such as Ayodhya, Tirupati, Mahakaleshwar, Varanasi, Vrindavan etc., will be started soon.”
The Minister added that buses from several state cities, including Puri, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, and Rourkela, would be running to these holy locations.
Additionally, he made hints about the renaming of the much-discussed Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative (LAccMI) scheme, the ambitious public transport service that the previous government launched and which runs from the Gramme Panchayat to the state capital.
“We are examining the LAccMI scheme, but it is our firm assurance that people will get the bus service,” Jena stated.
The Minister of Transportation also mentioned that bus services will be offered in areas without access to other forms of transportation.
He announced that during the Rath Yatra, bus transportation would be available from all 314 block headquarters throughout the state to the sacred city of Puri.
