Odisha celebrates International Day of Yoga; Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is present at the event held at Kalinga Stadium.

On the eve of the 10th International Day of Yoga, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi participated in a large-scale yoga practice held at Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium. Moreover, a number of yoga classes were scheduled throughout the state.

The event, which drew hundreds of attendees, including politicians, MLAs, young people, schoolchildren, celebrities from Odia cinema, and athletes, emphasised the value of the age-old discipline of yoga and encouraged others to adopt it as a daily habit for better health.

The theme for this year is “Yoga for Self & Society,” which emphasises how vital it is to include yoga in all facets of life for the wellbeing of both individuals and communities. CM Mohan Majhi, who was in charge of the occasion, urged all Odias, young and old, to contribute to a new and healthy Odisha.

“We organised this auspicious event with new hope and aspirations, and this will go a long way in building a new and healthy Odisha.” Majhi said, “Yoga is important for society’s well-being as well as for our individual lives.

“To encourage everyone to lead a vibrant and healthy lifestyle, our government is dedicated to introducing yoga to every home in the state,” he continued.

Participating in the event was actress and BJP leader Pinky Pradhan, who stated, “I go to the gym because our physical health is very crucial.” But we must include yoga into our daily lives if we want to maintain both our physical and mental well-being.

Likewise, international hockey player Birendra Lakra stated, “We should not devalue yoga and incorporate it like any other sport in our daily lives, as it is also very crucial like other sports and games.”
