NEET Paper Leak: CBI Teams To Quiz Accused Arrestees In Delhi, Get All Updates In The Case

Monday is anticipated to see a visit to Patna by a CBI team, who may decide to question those detained in the NEET-UG paper leak case in Delhi. According to the officials, the Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU) has detained eighteen persons in relation to this case thus far.

According to them, CBI agents will probably gather case-related information from the EOU, which was looking into the issue before the Centre requested that the federal agency look into it. In the midst of nationwide scrutiny, the CBI filed a formal complaint on Sunday regarding suspected irregularities in the May 5 medical entrance exam, NEET-UG, following a referral from the Education Ministry.

According to an EOU officer, the CBI team is scheduled to arrive at the EOU office at approximately 11.30 am to gather all evidence, which will include the burned question paper pieces that were found in a Patna home, the arrested people’s cell phones, SIM cards, laptops, postdated checks, and reference questions from the National Testing Agency (NTA).

All those who have been arrested are in judicial custody in Patna. If a court in this city grants transit remand, the CBI team may be able to transport them to Delhi for in-depth questioning.In order to look into the destruction of evidence, the CBI may file several FIRs in relation to the case. It may also register disproportionate assets (DA) cases against some of the accused who work for the government.

Sikander Prasad Yadvendu, a junior engineer in Danapur Town Council, is the subject of an arrest warrant filed by the District Attorney (DA) because it is alleged that he accumulated substantial assets that are out of proportion to his known source of income. Yadvendu, a Samastipur native, has been named as the case’s main suspect.He has a past of engaging in illegal activity. He was employed as a contractor in Ranchi prior to being promoted to junior engineer in 2012. He was previously connected to a Rs 3 crore LED scam. Due to his involvement in that, he was sentenced to prison.
