It’s likely that Bhubaneswar International Airport will soon be sold off!

It’s possible that Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) will soon be sold off.

Up to 11 airports nationwide may soon be operated by private companies, according to reports that have appeared in some sections of the national media. According to the reports, Bhubaneswar, Indore, Raipur, and Trichy airports are probably going to be privatised out of the 11 airports.

Thus, initiatives for the expansion and development of these airports will be undertaken. Priority for privatisation will be given to airports that are losing money.

A list of the airports will be created based on profit and loss, and bidding will be conducted in accordance with that list. If a business takes over a profitable airport, it must also assume accountability for an airport that experiences a loss.
