In Tamil Nadu, an Odisha village laments the passing of IRB Jawan.

A village in Odisha experienced a pall of darkness following the death of their son, an IRB jawan, in an accident in Tamil Nadu. On Tuesday, the mortal remains of IRB jawan Pramod Majhi arrived in Odisha.

The deceased jawan joined IRB in 2009 and was a resident of Dharmabandha village in the Nuapada district. He was assigned to election duty. He apparently had an accident and died while performing his duty.

His body was transported by air from Tamil Nadu to the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Odisha. The IRB battalion received the mortal remains after that. Following the final payment of tributes, the hearse drove on towards Dharmabandha village.

The jawan is said to have left behind his son, wife, and ageing parents.
