In a clash with security forces in the Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, at least 29 Naxalites were slain, according to police officials.

The fierce gunfight left three security personnel injured, and they also claimed that many weapons had been recovered from the scene.

A joint team of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the state police’s District Reserve Guard (DRG) was out on an anti-Naxal operation when a gunfight broke out at about 2:00 pm in the Hapatola forest between Binagunda and Koronar villages under the boundaries of the Chhotebethiya police station, according to Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P.
