The national STOP Diarrhoea Campaign 2024 was introduced on Monday by Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda in an effort to reduce diarrhea-related deaths in children under five.
In India, diarrhoea ranks as the third most common cause of childhood mortality.
The Health Ministry stated in a statement that “the goal of the STOP Diarrhoea Campaign is to achieve zero child deaths as a result of childhood diarrhoea.”
The 2014-launched Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) programme has been renamed as the STOP Diarrhoea Campaign.
