IAS officer Rukmani Riar cleared UPSC on first attempt, despite failing class 6.

IAS Rukmani Riar, a backbencher and former Class VI failed student, has inspired many with her strong approach, determination, and consistency. Rukmani, born in Punjab, has now served as an IAS officer in Rajasthan. Her experience with failure taught her not to complain and to be persistent. Rukmani pursued her graduation in social sciences from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, and later joined the Tata Institute of Social Sciences for post-graduation. After an internship with NGOs, Rukmani decided to try UPSC, securing a second rank in her first attempt. To prepare for the UPSC interview, Rukmani recommends reading NCERT books and reading newspapers comprehensively for daily current affairs. Her story demonstrates the importance of consistency and determination in achieving success in various aspects of life.
