On February 10, the Bihar NDA Government will present a motion of no confidence against Awadh Bihari Chaudhary, the current Speaker.
If Chaudhary does not resign, then removing him from his position as Speaker will only be a formality because the current government holds a majority in the Bihar Vidhan Sabha.
On Monday evening, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Sinha, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and other leaders convened at the Chief Minister’s residence to discuss this matter.
They talked about the upcoming Budget Session, which is scheduled to begin on February 12.
On January 28, the NDA filed an application for a no-confidence motion with the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat. The law states that a session can only begin after the 14-day period has passed.
In the state’s five-year history, this was the second time a no confidence motion against a speaker had been filed.
The Mahagathbandhan government had previously filed a motion of no confidence against Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha. He is currently Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister.
