For the upcoming Board Examinations in 2024, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will keep providing facilities to students with Type 1 diabetes.
The CBSE has made the decision to give the Class 10 and Class 12 students specific special measures during the board examinations in light of the most recent developments in medical science. Students with Type 1 diabetes are permitted to bring certain items with them when the exam is being administered.
What is permitted in the exam rooms:
candy, chocolate, and sugar tablets
fruits such as orange, banana, and apple
Sandwich items and any high-protein diet are examples of snacks.
medications prescribed by a doctor
500 ml bottle of water
glucose test strips and a glucose metre
insulin pumps, flash glucose monitors (FGM), and/or continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices
The CBSE notice states that during registration or LOC, students were required to disclose any relevant information regarding their Type 1 diabetes. Students are expected to arrive at the school no later than 45 minutes prior to the start of the exam on the day of the test.
