Dr. Narayani Panda, a social worker, gives Sambalpur Women’s College her home.

Renowned physician and social worker Dr. Narayani Panda, who is well-known for giving away her possessions to the community, has also donated her Sambalpur home.

According to reports, Panda gave the government women’s college in Sambalpur her two-story home, which occupies eight decimals of land, in the town of Bhutapada in western Odisha. Her house will serve as a dorm for college boarders.

She gave the college authorities the pertinent paperwork for the property transfer on Wednesday.

When discussing her charity with OTV, Panda remarked, “That house is a big one.” I observed that it was difficult for students to find lodging in the area. Their college is directly behind my house. I made the decision to give it to the college so that the students could remain there. The property transfer took a while. However, the registration was eventually successful, and I gave the Regional Director the paperwork.

“I am ageing already. I cannot take this house, my money, or any other possessions with me when I pass away. In any case, I don’t need any more cash. So I thought it would be best if I gave them all away before I passed away,” she remarked.

The 85-year-old retired physician from the Odisha district of Sambalpur has dedicated her life to helping the underprivileged, and as a result, she has inspired others. She treated innumerable patients over her career as a physician. She has already retired from her employment, but she is still active in the social services.

The 80-year-old physician participates actively in a number of social and academic groups, the health department committee, and the Rotary Club. All of her assets, both movable and immovable, have been used for the benefit of the populace.

Panda gave Rs 30 lakh to Gangadhar Meher University in Sambalpur in 2021. The funds were used to fund the varsity students’ computer education.

In the social service category, Panda received the esteemed Odisha Citizens Award in 2022.

Following the passing of her spouse, Prasant Mohanty, she has been dedicating her time to social service.
