In India, Dolly Chaiwala is the most well-known and viral tea vendor. After meeting Dolly Chaiwala and having a chai from his tea stall, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates’s fame skyrocketed.

Right now, Bill Gates is visiting India. He has been extremely busy attending back-to-back meetings, one of which being with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of Odisha. He also went to a number of Bhubaneswar slums.

Recently, one of his videos—in which the well-known businessman and philanthropist is shown drinking tea brewed by Dolly Chaiwala—went viral on the internet.

The video, which features Bill Gates drinking tea at Dolly Chaiwala’s well-known tea stand in Nagpur, was posted on Instagram. Gates is astounded by the creativity that permeates every aspect of Indian life, even the making of tea.

“In India, you can find innovation everywhere you turn—even in the preparation of a simple cup of tea!” is the caption for the video. (sic)

Gates sees the social media star making tea in his own special way before he finally gives him a cup.

Notably, Dolly Chaiwala runs a roadside tea stand in Nagpur’s Sadar neighborhood next to the former VCA stadium. According to a PTI story, the tea vendor goes by Dolly Chaiwala on social media, but his true name is unknown.
