The Orissa High Court was notified on Thursday by Amicus Curiae MK Mohanty that the restoration of Puri Srimandir’s Natamandap and Jagamohan would be finished by April 30 of this year.
Although Mohanty gave the High Court verbal notice, the court has mandated that he provide an affidavit in this regard no later than one week from now.
The following week has been set aside for this case’s next hearing.
Additionally, Mohanty stated that the beam design for the repair work has already been decided upon.
In November 2023, the Orissa High Court ordered the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to begin work on Puri Srimandir Natamandap’s restoration as soon as possible, expressing its displeasure with the delay.
Additionally, the HC mandated that the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) give the ASI every assistance it can for the restoration project.
The High Court further stated in its order that the amicus curiae will oversee the repair work and provide the court with reports every fifteen days.
