The final list of three candidates for the Assembly elections was released by the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday.
The BJD has announced candidates for all 147 Assembly seats in the next state elections with this list.
The party unexpectedly replaced its candidate for the Deogarh Assembly seat as well.
Romanch Ranjan Biswal will represent the BJD in the Deogarh Assembly seat, replacing Arundhati Kumari Devi, who was the party’s nominee on April 17. BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made this announcement.
The previous Assembly elections saw Biswal contest from the Deogarh seat, but he was defeated by Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Subash Chandra Panigrahi by about 7,000 votes.
